Frequently Asked Questions?

Is Tattooing & Piercing Safe?

Tattoos & Piercings are perfectly safe if you go to a reputable tattoo artist/ piercer who follows all recommended safety precautions and infection control procedures. Our shop is licensed with the Texas Department of State Health Services & practices proper sterilization as regulated by the state.

Do Tattoos Hurt?

The short answer is Yes – it does. Some people describe the process as a pricking sensation. Others say it feels like bee stings or being scratched. A thin needle is piercing your skin, so you can expect at least a little discomfort. Pain tolerances vary from person to person & many other factors will determine the level of pain such as placement & size of the tattoo. We call it a “Good Pain”.

Do Body Piercings Hurt?

Yes- when you first get pierced, you can feel two types of pain; a sharp pain which lasts only for some time and replaces with a duller pain that will last for some hours. Its intensity depends on your tolerance as well.

Do we use Needles or a Piercing Gun for Piercings?

Our shop only uses single-use disposable needles for each client. A piercing gun is not the most recommended method as it has many impediments and disadvantages; it may be a cause of infection due to multiple uses and diseases can easily be transmitted with a gun. It creates complications due to poor hygienic condition and poor-quality jewelry which is not proper for the healing process. A piercing gun will likely cause swelling, be more painful, and take longer to heal than a needle piercing.

How Much for a Tattoo?

Our shop minimum for a tattoo is $100 for a standard business card size tattoo of your choosing. Each tattoo design is unique, therefore it’s difficult to price just “a tattoo”. The best way to receive a personalized price estimate for your desired tattoo is to fill out a tattoo inquiry or book a tattoo consultation with us.

Should I tip my Artist?

Yes, tipping your artist is a really lovely gesture. It is a significant part of tattoo etiquette. It is not fully mandatory, though, but doing so can help you build a strong bond with your tattoo artist or piercer.

How long do Tattoos & Piercings take to Heal?

After getting a tattoo, the outer layer of skin will typically heal within 2 to 3 weeks, as long as proper after care has been taking place. It may take 3 to 4 months for the lowers layers of the skin to heal. For piercing healing times, please refer to our “Piercings” page.

What to Expect After a Tattoo?

If your tattoo is wrapped in saniderm from the studio, it’s suggested to keep it covered for 3-4 days after your session. If your tattoo is exposed, you may notice fluid oozing from the tattoo area, this is normal. You may experience redness, soreness, the area to be warm to the touch, & light scabbing. Do not pick at any scabs – this can cause scarring. If your tattoo is dried out or flaky, you can apply a thin layer of A&D healing ointment, or fragrance-free & alcohol-free moisturizer as needed. Any time your tattoo is itchy, it’s suggested that you lightly strike the area for relief. Please call the tattoo artist or your doctor if you experience any symptoms of infection or other problems.

How do I decide on the right Tattoo Studio for me?

The first thing that you can do is search online. Read reviews and feedback on their websites. Take out the best and reputed tattoo studios of your city and visit them. Talk to the tattoo artist or piercer and get a general feel for them. Remember that getting a tattoo or piercing is a very personal experience, so it is important to have a rapport with your tattooist or piercer and feel comfortable in their studio.
